St. Luke's Hospital at The Vintage LLC assists retired police office
St. Luke's Hospital at The Vintage has helped relieve the back pain of retired Police Officer Timothy Cox.
Using a minimally invasive surgical procedure, medical staff at St. Luke's Hospital at The Vintage (SLHV) have been able to treat what Alexander Mohr, MD, board-certified orthopedic spine surgeon at SLHV, calls the worst back he had ever seen.
"When I met with (retired) Officer Timothy Cox, I honestly could not fathom how he was functioning day-to-day with his lumbar region in such bad shape," said Dr. Mohr, in a press release. "In my years of treating spinal disorders, this case was truly unique."
By performing a laminectomy, a minimally invasive surgery that removes the lamina, Dr. Mohr was able to relieve pressure in Cox's lumbar region. Within days of having the procedure, Cox noticed a marked difference in the pain and his ability to perform routine activities.
The announcement was made Tuesday, Feb. 5.
St. Luke's Hospital at The Vintage LLC is at 20171 Chasewood Park Drive, Houston.
