Tomball residents blame Spring pub for alleged drunken driving accident
Tomball residents are suing over claims a Spring-area pub continued to serve alcohol to an intoxicated customer, which resulted in a serious vehicle accident.
Tomball residents Garrett Ward and Angela Ward filed a lawsuit on Thursday, Feb. 16 in the Harris County District Court against IAMA, doing business in Spring as Parrot Pub, citing negligence and gross negligence.
The Wards say on March 27, 2010, Garrett Ward suffered serious injuries when a drunken driver ran a stop sign at the intersection of Spring Cypress Road and Carrot Road and crashed into his vehicle. Prior to the accident, Parrot Pub employees continued to serve the driver alcoholic beverages even though he showed obvious signs of intoxication, according to the brief.
The Wards are seeking actual and punitive damages, as well as court costs. They are being represented in the case by Houston attorney Daniel Horowitz III.
