X-22 Iron Is Better for High Handicappers
A very modern and advanced looking club was released, and it is the Callaway X-22 Irons. They are a new model generally aimed mostly at mid to high handicappers. These clubs might not be too attractive visually in photos, but they are more easy on the eye when you see one of these irons at first hand. They are designed and weighted with the idea of giving you more distance, and greater forgiveness. When you first hold the club in your hands, one thing that is noticeable that the club head is quite a thin top line and sole. When I first got the X-22 Tours, I took them to the range along with the Mizunos and alternated shots through the bag. If anything, and to my surprise, the Callaways felt softer and more solid. They are certainly a little easier to hit and I made them fly just a little higher than the MP-57s. On the course, the distances were comparable, although I hit more consistent distances with the Callaways. All in all, it is pretty good forgiveness for a better players club or high handicappers.
