A 2005 graduate of Tomball High School, Wiley played college baseball at Kansas State for three seasons (2006 to 2008). He was a career .306 hitter for the Wildcats with 13 home runs and 90 RBIs in 149 college games. Wiley was drafted by the Cincinnati Reds in the 22nd round (659th overall) of the 2008 Major League Baseball draft.
